Artist-Designed Country Wallpaper
Our country wallpaper brings orchards, farmland and woodland into the home through four artist-designed patterns: The Plough, Apple Pickers, Staffordshire and Basket. Each is printed to order in London on extra-wide, uncoated non-woven wallpaper and sold by the metre.
-
The Plough, Apple Pickers and Staffordshire are hand printed wallpaper designs, screen printed in London, so slight colour variation is part of the finish.
Basket is the exception. It is digitally printed, which keeps its small willow-inspired pattern free of visible join lines.
The Plough and Apple Pickers are scenic, with vertical repeats of around half a metre, and Staffordshire's woodland of deer and ferns, inspired by antique ceramics, reads as folk art wallpaper. Basket's 20 cm repeat makes a quieter partner.
For country style wallpaper across a whole scheme, order samples and see them side by side.
English Country Wallpaper With a Story
Each of our English country wallpaper designs starts with a real place, object or craft. The Plough comes from a Suffolk farmhouse, Apple Pickers from English orchards and antique toile, Staffordshire from antique ceramics, and Basket from the rhythm of woven willow.
That source shapes the scale and detail you see on the wall. The Plough is the most personal. It's my abstract take on my grandad's thatched farmhouse in rural Suffolk, set among fields of wheat and his Suffolk Punch horses. My first palette started with Ethel Spowers' print Harvest (1932), and shared colourways such as Field Blue and Corn Grey still link the designs today.
Matching Country Fabrics
Originally created as a hand block print, Basket takes its cue from the rhythmic structure of woven willow. The gentle irregularity inherent in the block-printing process gives the pattern a soft, organic quality with a subtle nod to the hand-crafted nature of traditional basketry.
HOW TO USE IT
Basket is a versatile design, ideal for all soft furnishings, from full-length curtains and blinds to upholstery projects such as sofas, headboards, and armchairs. Equally suited to contemporary interiors in search of warmth and texture as it is to more traditional spaces, Basket is a timeless choice for any home. Designed to sit effortlessly within the wider Beki Bright collection, it layers beautifully with more detailed patterns such as The Plough and Staffordshire.
